Partnerships
At Edmonton Flying Club, we believe education is paramount. It is for that reason that we have three educational partners to provide you with the best possible training.
Canadian Flight Institute - Online Ground School
In partnership with the Canadian Flight Institute, we are pleased to offer the ability for our students,
who can not attend our traditional ground school, to complete their private
pilot ground school online at any time of the day.
Whether you live in Grand Prairie, Yellowknife, or India, this program gives you access to all the resources, tests, and lectures, without you ever leaving your home or office.
All lectures include a presentation with audio followed by a quiz at the end.

Queen Elizabeth High School - Aviation 25/35
We are pleased to be a part of the new aviation program at Queen Elizabeth High School here in Edmonton. This program allows high school students who are interested in aviation, to explore the multitude of options a career or hobby in aviation has to offer.
In Aviation 25, students explore the history of aviation leading from early myths and legends moving to lighter than air developments and finally the history of powered flight. In this unit students get to do numerous projects such as building their own hot air balloon, projects on aviation pioneers, and building gliders based on aerofoil research. Students also get to explore the different careers in aviation including pilot, aircraft mechanic, air traffic controller, and ramp personnel. Lastly students attain their radio operator's license by following and completing the Transport Canada's requirements for the Radio Operator's License.
Aviation 35 allows students to complete a private pilot ground school following the Transport Canada ground school curriculum. Students will have the opportunity to study meteorology, air law, navigation, and general knowledge.
Grant MacEwan Community College - Aviation Management Studies
Students who love to fly but still want a solid business education should consider this joint program between Grant MacEwan College and the Edmonton Flying Club. The combination of flight training and Management Studies courses is excellent for those who want to work in aviation management or related businesses.
Flight Training and Ground School courses are transferable to the Management Studies diploma program. If you have a private or commercial pilot's licence, you can receive credit for three options/electives (9 credits) toward the diploma. Other aviation courses can be substituted for Management courses.
